Family sharing
What is family sharing?
Family sharing puts your partner and your children on one Fynbos subscription, with a single members list showing everyone you manage or share with.
One subscription: You pay one bill for the whole family
Age-based pricing: Under-18s are free with your subscription, and under-30s pay half price
You control access: Choose which of your children's accounts your partner can see and act on, and change it any time
Family sharing lives in Settings under Family. Your own accounts are never shared — only children's profiles you choose to share.
Setting up your family
If you have no children and no partner yet, the Family page introduces family sharing and offers a single setup entry point.
Navigate to Settings
Tap Family
Tap Set up your family
Choose My partner to send a partner invite, or My child to create a child profile
If you already have child accounts, Fynbos shows a short welcome explaining what family sharing means for you. Tap Continue to go straight to your members list.
Your members list
Once you have a partner or a child, the Family page becomes a members list.
Each row tells you the person's relationship to you:
Row | What it means |

Invite pending | An invite you've sent that hasn't been accepted yet |
Child | A child profile you created |
Shared by [name] | A child your partner created and shared with you |
Shared with [name] | Your child, currently shared with your partner |
Tap Add child account at the bottom of the list to create another child profile.
Sharing a child with your partner
Sharing is off by default. Nothing is shared with your partner until you turn it on, including children you add later.
Navigate to Settings, then Family
Find the child you want to share in the members list
Tap the switch on the right of their row
The row description changes to Shared with [partner name]. Turn the switch off again to stop sharing.
Note: You can only share children you created. A child your partner shared with you appears as Shared by [their name] and has no switch — that sharing is theirs to control.
What your partner can do
Sharing a child gives your partner enough access to help, but not enough to take money out. You keep full control as the child's parent.

New accounts you open for a shared child inherit the same access automatically, so you don't need to re-share after adding an account.
Important: Retirement Annuity beneficiaries are always owner-only. Even a partner or parent with full access cannot nominate or change them.
Unlinking your partner
Unlinking ends the family link between two adults. It takes effect immediately.
Navigate to Settings, then Family
Tap your partner's row in the members list
Read the summary of what unlinking will do
Tap Unlink
What unlinking does:
Removes all sharing between the two of you, in both directions
Ends subscription sponsorship on the day you unlink — whoever was being sponsored loses Protea access that day
Leaves every account and balance untouched
You can invite each other again later. See Inviting your partner for how sponsorship works.
