Changing your debit order

You can change your debit order amount, bank account, or collection date at any time.

  1. From the Cash account screen, tap Change debit order

  2. Update any of the following:

    • Monthly amount: Enter the new amount you want debited each month

    • Bank: Select a different linked bank account

    • Day of the month: Choose when the debit should run (1st-28th, or last day)

  3. Tap Continue

  4. Review your new debit order details

  5. Tick the checkboxes to confirm you agree to the terms and understand the 40-day hold on debit order funds

  6. Tap Continue

Your new debit order instruction replaces the previous one. Changes take effect from your next scheduled collection date.

Pausing your debit order

If you need to skip one or more months, you can pause your debit order without cancelling it.

  1. From the Cash account screen, find the Debit order card

  2. Tap the toggle switch to turn it off

A confirmation message appears: "Your debit order is paused."

What this means for you:

  • No funds will be debited until you resume

  • Your debit order settings are preserved

  • Resume anytime by toggling back on

Pause deadlines

To pause a specific month's debit order, you must act before the deadline.

The deadline is 12:00 noon on the day before your scheduled debit date. For example:

Debit date

Pause deadline

1st of the month

12:00 noon on the last day of the previous month

15th of the month

12:00 noon on the 14th

25th of the month

12:00 noon on the 24th

If you pause after the deadline, your current month's debit will still run. The pause takes effect from the following month.

Important: If you need to stop an imminent debit order, ensure you pause before 12:00 noon the day before. Pausing after this time will not prevent the upcoming collection.

Resuming your debit order

When you're ready to restart your contributions, resume your debit order with a single tap.

  1. From the Cash account screen, find the Debit order card

  2. Tap the toggle switch to turn it on

A confirmation message appears: "Your debit order has resumed."

The same deadline rules apply to resuming. To ensure collection on a specific date, resume before 12:00 noon the day before.

Cancelling your debit order

To permanently stop your debit order, contact Fynbos support. For security reasons, debit order cancellations are processed manually.

  2. Navigate to Settings

  3. Tap Contact support

  4. Request to cancel your debit order

Our support team will confirm the cancellation and process your request. You can set up a new debit order at any time from the Add money screen.
