Viewing transactions

Where to find transactions

All your transactions are accessible from the Transactions page, which shows a complete history of money movement across your accounts.

  1. Tap Transactions in the navigation menu

  2. Browse your transaction history, grouped by date

Each transaction displays:

  • Transaction type icon: Visual indicator of the transaction type

  • Title: Description of what happened (e.g., "Deposit from Bank transfer")

  • Status badge: Current state of the transaction (if pending or failed)

  • Amount: The transaction value

Tap any transaction to view its full details, including fees, timeline, and additional information.

Transaction types explained

Fynbos tracks different types of transactions depending on how money moves through your accounts.

Type

Description

Deposit

Money added to your Cash account via EFT or debit order

Withdrawal

Money sent from your Cash account to your bank

Transfer in

Money moved into an account from another Fynbos account

Transfer out

Money moved out of an account to another Fynbos account

Buy

Units purchased in an investment fund

Sell

Units sold from an investment fund

Interest

Interest earned on your money market investments

Dividend

Dividend payments received from your investments

Reversal

A transaction that was reversed or corrected

External contribution

Prior contributions to tax-advantaged accounts (TFSA, RA) reported from another provider

What this means for you: Understanding transaction types helps you track where your money is going and verify that automation rules and investment strategies are working as expected.

Transaction statuses

Every transaction has a status that tells you where it is in the process.

Status

What it means

Pending

Transaction has been created but not yet processed. For deposits, this means we're waiting for the funds to arrive.

In progress

Transaction is actively being processed. For buys and sells, this means the trade is being executed.

Complete

Transaction has finished successfully.

Failed

Transaction could not be completed. This may happen if a deposit doesn't arrive or a payment is rejected.

Note: Pending EFT deposits can be cancelled if you decide not to make the transfer. Tap the transaction and select I won't make this deposit to cancel.

Viewing transaction details

Each transaction has a detail view with additional information about what happened.

  1. Navigate to Transactions

  2. Tap the transaction you want to view

The detail view shows:

  • Amount: The total transaction value

  • Description: What the transaction was for

  • Date and time: When the transaction occurred

  • Timeline: Step-by-step progress of the transaction

Investment transaction details

For buy and sell transactions, you'll also see:

  • Shares: Number of units bought or sold

  • Price per share: The unit price at execution

Note: Price per share and fees are estimates until a buy transaction has completed. The final values may differ slightly based on the actual execution price.

Fee breakdown

If a transaction includes fees, they appear in a separate section showing exactly what you were charged and why.

Filtering transactions by account

If you want to see transactions for a specific account only, use the account filter.

  1. Navigate to Transactions

  2. Tap Account filter at the top of the list

  3. Select the account you want to view

The list updates to show only transactions for that account. Tap the filter again and select a different account to switch, or clear the filter to see all transactions.
