Alexa Godden
South African sprint kayaker and LA Olympic Games 2028 hopeful.
I’m a South African kayaker working towards qualifying for the LA 2028 Olympic Games. I’ve represented South Africa at four World Championships and an Olympic hopes regatta, and I’ve earned a silver medal at an international regatta.
I matriculated from St Stithians Girls’ College and am currently studying towards a Bachelor of Business Science through the University of London, balancing my academic goals alongside elite sport.
Fynbos has become an important part of how I plan for my Olympic journey, helping me build a dedicated savings pot so I can focus on training while working towards LA 2028.

Tash van Greunen
South African professional surfer competing on the WSL.
I am a South African surfer from Cape Town. I have represented South Africa at the International Surfing Associations’ (ISA) World Surfing Games, and I am on the Athletes' Commission for the ISA. I also compete on the World Surf League (WSL) Qualifying Series and Challenger Series.
Alongside competing, I have completed a BSc in Environmental Management and started my own girls' and women’s surf brand, called Her Surf Spirit. I started with a girls' surf camp in 2024 and have slowly been growing ever since, offering more girls' surf experiences and coaching, as well as women’s gatherings and events. My goal for Her Surf Spirit is to inspire present and future generations to feel confident and take up their space in the water. Surfing has taught me so much, and I want to share that with others.
I am currently working towards qualification for the LA 2028 Olympics, with many smaller goals and steps in the Olympic cycle to get there, but I know that with each small goal and target reached, it’s another step towards LA 28.
Fynbos understands the intentional and dedicated pursuit of a goal, and I am grateful to have them along for the journey, helping me to prepare and plan for upcoming events and my future. Giving me the freedom to focus on my training and events
