# Adding money via EFT ## What is an EFT deposit? An EFT (electronic funds transfer) is a manual bank transfer from your personal bank account to your Fynbos account. This is ideal for: - **Once-off deposits**: Add money whenever you want, with no recurring commitment - **Large transfers**: Move significant amounts without debit order limits - **Flexible timing**: Deposit on your own schedule EFT deposits land in your Cash account, where you can transfer them to other accounts or let automation rules distribute them automatically. ## Finding your bank details Every Fynbos user has a unique reference number that identifies your deposits. You can find your banking details in the app. 1. From your home screen, tap **Add money** 2. Select **Manual EFT** 3. Tap **Continue** 4. Enter the amount you plan to deposit (optional, for your records) 5. Tap **Continue** Your EFT details screen displays: - **Unique reference**: Your personal reference number (required for every deposit) - **Bank**: The receiving bank name - **Account type**: The type of bank account - **Account number**: The account number to transfer to Tap the reference or account number to copy it to your clipboard. You can also share these details directly from the app. ## Making an EFT deposit Once you have your Fynbos banking details, complete the transfer from your bank. 1. Log in to your personal bank (app or internet banking) 2. Navigate to **Payments** or **Transfers** 3. Select **Pay new beneficiary** or **Once-off payment** 4. Enter the Fynbos account details: - **Account holder name**: Fynbos - **Bank**: As shown in the app - **Account number**: As shown in the app - **Reference**: Your unique reference number 5. Enter the amount you want to deposit 6. Confirm and submit the payment Your payment will be processed within 1-2 business days. > **Important**: Always use your unique reference number as the payment reference. Without it, we cannot identify your payment and it may be delayed. ## Processing times EFT deposits typically take 1-2 business days to reflect in your Cash account. The exact time depends on: - **Your bank's processing schedule**: Some banks process transfers faster than others - **Time of day**: Transfers made after banking cut-off times may process the next business day - **Weekends and public holidays**: Transfers are not processed on non-business days Once your deposit arrives, you'll receive a notification in the app. The funds will appear in your Cash account, ready to transfer or distribute via automation rules. ## Important requirements To ensure your EFT deposit is processed correctly: - **Deposit from your own bank account**: Transfers from third-party accounts are not accepted. This is a regulatory requirement to prevent money laundering. - **No cash deposits**: Branch cash deposits are not accepted. Only electronic bank transfers are supported. - **Use your unique reference**: Every deposit must include your unique reference number. Deposits without a reference may be delayed while we manually identify them.
