# Your subscription ## Overview of Fynbos pricing Fynbos offers two pricing tiers: a free plan and the Protea subscription. The *Subscription* settings page shows everyone included. Each member displays their name, cost contribution, and any discounts applied. This helps you understand the total cost of your subscription and see who benefits from your plan. ## Upgrading to Protea You can upgrade from the free plan to Protea at any time. During a trial, you have full access to Protea features. Before the trial ends, add a payment card to continue your subscription. If no card is added, your subscription will expire and Protea-only accounts will become limited. ## Cancelling your subscription You can cancel your Protea subscription at any time. Your access continues until the end of your current billing period. 1. Navigate to **Settings** 2. Tap **Subscription** 3. Tap **Cancel subscription** 4. Review who is affected and confirm your cancellation **What happens when you cancel**: - You keep Protea access until the end of your current billing period - After that, Protea-only accounts show as **Limited** - Your accounts and balances remain intact - You can resubscribe anytime to regain Protea features > **Important**: Cancelling your subscription also affects any Kids accounts you've created. Children on your subscription will also be downgraded to the free plan. ## Resuming a cancelled subscription If you've cancelled but your billing period hasn't ended yet, you can resume your subscription. 1. Tap **Resume subscription** Your subscription will continue as before with no interruption. ## Employer-sponsored subscriptions Some employers partner with Fynbos to offer Protea subscriptions to their employees at no cost. If your employer has partnered with Fynbos, you'll see a **Sponsored by [company name]** card on the *Subscription* page. You won't be charged while employed with that company. **If you leave your employer**: - You can continue your subscription independently - Or switch to the free plan - Your accounts and balances remain intact either way ## Parent-sponsored subscriptions If someone includes you on their Protea subscription (for example, a parent), you'll see a **Sponsored by [name]** card on your *Subscription* page. The subscription and payment sections are managed by the subscription owner — you don't need to do anything.
## Frequesntly asked questions
### What happens to my accounts if I cancel Protea?
Your accounts and balances stay intact. Protea-only accounts like Savings pots, Investment accounts, and Kids accounts will show as Limited — you can view them but cannot transfer money in. Resubscribe anytime to remove the restriction.
### Can I change my payment card?
Yes. Navigate to Settings, then Subscription, and tap Update next to your card details. You'll be redirected to update your payment method securely.
### What if my payment fails?
You receive a notification about the failed payment. Fynbos retries the payment automatically and gives you a grace period to update your payment method. Your investments continue to grow during this period. If the payment remains uncollected, your Protea-only accounts will become limited until payment is resolved.
### Is there a trial period?
Trial availability varies. If you're on a trial, you'll see the end date on your Subscription page. Add a payment card before the trial ends to continue with Protea. If no card is added, your subscription will expire and Protea-only accounts will become limited.
### Can I get a refund?
Subscription payments are generally non-refundable. Contact support if you have concerns about a specific charge.
### What happens to limited accounts on the free plan?
