# Downloading documents

## Available documents

Fynbos provides two types of documents you can download from your account settings.

| Document type | Description | When available |
| --- | --- | --- |
| **Account statements** | Monthly summary of transactions and balances for each account | Generated monthly for accounts with activity |
| **Tax certificates** | Official certificates for SARS tax filing | Generated annually after tax year end |

Your documents are stored securely and remain available for download at any time.

## Downloading account statements

Account statements provide a monthly record of all transactions, balances, and activity for each of your Fynbos accounts.

1. Tap **Settings** in the navigation menu
2. Tap **Statements**
3. Browse statements grouped by date
4. Tap the statement you want to download

The statement opens in a new tab as a PDF file. You can save it to your device or print it for your records.

Each statement shows:

- Account name and period covered
- Opening and closing balances
- All transactions during the period
- Any fees charged

> **Note**: Statements are only generated for accounts that had activity during the period. If you don't see a statement for a particular account, it means there were no transactions that month.

## Downloading tax certificates

Tax certificates are official documents you need for filing your annual tax return with SARS. Fynbos provides two types of tax certificates.

### Interest and dividend certificate

This certificate summarises all interest and dividend income earned on your investments during the tax year. You'll need this to declare investment income on your tax return.

### Tax-free investment certificate

If you have a Tax-Free Savings Account (TFSA), this certificate confirms your contributions and investment growth within the tax-free wrapper. SARS may request this to verify your tax-free status.

### How to download

1. Tap **Settings** in the navigation menu
2. Tap **Tax certificates**
3. Browse certificates grouped by tax year
4. Tap the certificate you want to download

The certificate opens in a new tab as a PDF file.

> **Important**: Your tax certificates are password protected. Use your South African ID number to unlock them.

## When documents become available

### Statements

Account statements are generated monthly, typically within the first week of the following month. For example, your January statement becomes available in early February.

### Tax certificates

Tax certificates are generated after the South African tax year ends on 28 February. You can expect your certificates to be available by mid-March.

You'll receive a notification when new documents are ready to download.
